Meet Tim

Tim Gould was elected to the Smyrna City Council in 2018 through a special election and reelected in November 2019 for a full four-year term. Tim serves as the Ward 6 Council Person and Mayor Pro Tem. He is the Chair of the Council’s Education Committee and Committee to Honor Fanny Williams while serving on the Budget and Traffic Calming Committees. Tim also serves on a range of Task Forces including Arts & Culture, Downtown Redesign Details, and the completed Townhome Standards, Short-term Rentals, and Annexation Committees.    

Tim remains active in the Smyrna and Cobb County community as a member of Leadership Cobb Class of 2023, Smyrna Business Association, and Cobb County Chamber of Commerce. He serves on Campbell High School Education Foundation, and Campbell Middle School Principal Advisory Committee.

Professionally, Tim is a partner of Fordham Plastics Equipment Corp and ZAG Equipment Sales inc.  Both companies market capital equipment to the manufacturing industry. He is President of ZAG, actively managing a growing small business providing technical services including recycling and automaton systems. 

After graduating from the University of Buffalo with a degree in mechanical engineering, Tim obtained an MBA from Fordham University while working in New York. In 1996, he relocated to Georgia and earned his Professional Engineering License.   

Tim and his wife Judy have lived in the Smyrna / Mableton area for 22 years and for the last ten years in the Olde Vinings Mill neighborhood with their two children, Abbie (19, first year student at GA Tech) and Jack (17, Junior at Campbell High School). He is an active member of St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church and is currently Vice Chair of St. Benedict’s School Board of Trustees. Tim works tirelessly to address the needs of Smyrna residents and enhance quality of life in our community.
